PERSONAL STATEMENT

A games development graduate that recently graduated with a first-class honour’s degree from the University of Central Lancashire aiming to secure a junior games Programmer position to apply and expand my programming skills and experience in a real-world environment. My hope is to assist in creating quality games that are enjoyed by a variety of demographics and build a reputation for building reliable software.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Three years of C++ experience at the University of Central Lancashire where the language was used with console applications and their proprietary game engine designed for teaching. It was also used to interface directly with DirectX 11. Shaders for the DirectX programs were written in HLSL. C++ was also used to create projects in Unreal Engine 4. C# was also taught for three years as an introduction to programming and for use with the Unity Game engine. The introduction involved making console and WPF applications. College also taught two programming languages starting with Python as an introduction before transitioning to Visual Basic for the rest of the two years. It was used to create Console and Windows Form Applications. Some limited experience with Lua has also been gained as it was used to automate a construction task in a computer game.

HOBBIES & INTERESTS

A Video game enthusiast with experience of multiple platforms and technologies including Virtual Reality and ray tracing. I enjoy learning and staying informed about physics and computing through online videos and news articles. This includes computer hardware which I have hands on experience with though customising and upgrading my PC, where the graphics card was replaced, multiple hard drives added and a clean install of windows was installed. I was a member of the scouts association and was part of it for many years where I gained useful team and communication skill through hands on experience. It also provided the opportunity to learn first aid and meet new people.
